DIY Picture Frame Pin Display
If you struggle to know what to do with your beloved pin collection, this easy frame DIY is an easy way to turn them into interesting wall art where they can add a bit of personality to a room.
Materials Needed:
- Ribbon
- Scissors
- Cardboard
- Picture Frame
- Scrap of fabric big enough to cover inside of your frame. I used a piece of canvas that was from a paint by numbers.
- Hot Glue or E6000. Hot Glue is more temporary so choose a stronger glue if you want to make it a bit sturdier/permanent.
Start by using disassembling your frame and use the piece that attaches to the back of it to trace on top of your fabric.
Once you cut that out, you'll use that piece of fabric to trace on top of the cardboard. The cardboard will later be stacked behind the fabric and will replace the frame's backing so that the pins that be pushed through and held.

After you have your fabric and cardboard pieces cut out, you'll move on to assembling the pin display. To do this, flip the frame and start adding hot glue to the inside. I suggest adding the glue and pressing down the fabric in sections since the glue will dry quickly.
Next, add the piece of cardboard on top of the fabric and close it using the frame stoppers. I chose to skip adding glue to the back of the fabric since I wanted the option to be able to use the frame for other things in the future. If you want a more secure and permanent bond, I recommend using a liquid glue like E6000 to attach the fabric, cardboard, and frame together.
To finish up the display, cut a piece of ribbon that is about 2 inches long and fold it in half. Then, add a little bit of hot glue to the back top part of your frame and glue the two ends of ribbon. Be sure to face out the part of the ribbon that you want to see.

Next, cut another piece of ribbon about 1 to 1.5 inches long. You'll glue this piece on top of the two ends to add more strength and give it a more polished finish.
Finally, flip over your frame display and start adding your favorite pins! Be aware that the ends of the pins might be exposed through the back, but they'll be hidden once your hang up your display.
